Two Best friends

The red Pegasus with a black mane is OmegaCharge. The blue Pegasus with the paint markings and the white and grey dreds is IceHawk. They both grew up in Baltimare, and were best friends, and even attended flight school together. But IceHawk could not stay out of trouble and was thrown out of the flight school. OmegaCharge stayed and diligently learned the discipline, and returned to Baltimare after graduating to attend the School for Royal Guards. IceHawk had returned to Baltimare when he was kicked out of Flight School, and had taken up the job of bringing winter into the area. But most days, especially during the summer, he had nothing else to do, so he made mischief with his pet bird, lucky, and took up a part time job as a thief to pay the bills.
OmegaCharge did not know any of this, and his first real assignment was to apprehend what the locals had labeled the Ice Nuicance. When he found out it was IceHawk, he became enraged and went after his former friend. But the icy pegasus eluded him, and he made it his life's goal to take down his former best friend. For the five grueling years he was in the Guard Academy, he hunted IceHawk relentlessly.
One day, OmegaCharge came upon a small teal-colored filly who looked to be starving to death. He began walking towards her, but she saw him and ran away, her eyes filled with fear. He cornered her in an alleyway and looked on in concern and helplessness as she tried to make herself as small as possible and began to weep. Omega knelt beside her and put his wing around her.
"It's okay, kid. I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to help."
"But you're from that Guard Academy! All of the ponies who go there are mean and cruel and you most of all!" He looked down at her, shocked.
"What do you mean? You don't even know me!"
"I know you're the Pegasus who's trying to kill my big brother! He brings winter to this land, but the job is only seasonal, and he barely gets enough money to feed me and my other brother! He saw we were starving, so he took another job as a thief, because it was all that was left! But then you showed up and now he's killing himself trying to feed us!" Omega became angry at her words. How dare she say that IceHawk's thieving ways were anything but selfish!
"Stealing is against the law! There is no excuse!" He lost control of himself and crushed the little fillies skull. His eyes went wide and he looked down in horror. A sharp gasp and weeping turned his attention to IceHawk, who fell to his knees.
"W... Why...? Wasn't.... Wasn't killing my parents and other brother enough...? Because of you... my family starved to death... and now you've killed..... Murder... MURDERER!!!" IceHawk ran through the streets, OmegaCharge hot on his heels. But IceHawk was much thinner and faster, but also in a frail state of health. Eventually, Guards came to the cries and arrested IceHawk for theft. But then they saw OmegaCharge and his blood-covered hoof. "He's a murderer! He killed my family!!!" IceHawk began to weep harder, and even started to throw up. Years of starvation and sickness piled on top of the blue Pegasus, and he was rushed to a hospital, while OmegaCharge was taken into custody.
Princess Celestia heard about the incident, and came to talk to OmegaCharge. He told her what happened, and she sentenced him to death. Then she went to talk to IceHawk. The blue Pegasus was near death, and he recounted to her his story. Celestia, while moved to tears by his drive to protect his family, also knew that what he had done was wrong. But then he cleared his throat.
"Princess.... Please... I know... I know Omega... Didn't mean to kill my sister... Or my family... I know he was just doing what he thought was right. Please... Please... He's my friend... I can forgive him if only you... show him mercy... and let him live... and... please... do something to... make sure this does not need to ever happen... I don't care if I die anymore... But let my friend live... I forgive him..." Tears streamed down his face as he went into cardiac arrest and was taken away by the doctors.
Princess Celestia went to see OmegaCharge again.
"You, Omega, have a friend who will never, ever see you as anything else, even when you murder his sister and he is near death from trying to provide for his family. IceHawk has asked me to pardon you... and says he forgives your unforgivable crime. I cannot pardon you, this you know. But I will allow you to see your friend one last time."
"But Princess, he-"
"Was just trying to provide for his family. His mother was sick, and his father was dead. His brother and sister could not do any sort of work, they were too young... and the pay for the weather patrol is only enough for one pegasus to live on. I realize now that I need to take more control of Baltimare's financial workings for the time being. But you may see your friend one last time."
OmegaCharge was lead to IceHawk, but by the time he entered the hospital room, his former friend was dead. Omega felt nothing... just that IceHawk got what he deserved. In truth, he had never seen the other Pegasus as a friend, or anything, but a nuisance. He was executed the next day.

So that is their sad and tragic story.
